About Resin

Resin bound surfacing is a popular product for exterior and even interior surfaces, such as garage floors and swimming pool surrounds.

There are two types of resin and the most popular one being resin bound rather than resin bond. For most surfacing we would recommend the resin bond for its smooth and beautiful surface. Suitable for driveways, patios, paths, car parks, forecourts etc.

Resin bound is where the aggregate is mixed in with the resin and is applied with a trowel and the surface is permeable, which means the rain water can drain away.

Resin bond is where the resin is laid on the surface and the aggregate is laid on top, this is a rough surface and is not permeable.

Resin can be applied to most surfaces.

Overdrive Systems can lay a new Resin Surface directly laid over your existing driveway surface.

Resin surfacing is suitable for both inside and outside areas.

Resin is ideal for Driveways, Door Steps, Paths, Patios,

Swimming pools; garages; conservatories.

Two methods of application:
1. Resin Bound stone surfacing.
2. Resin Bonded stone surfacing.

Resin Bound - The system is mixed on site and cold applied, using a high-quality clear resin binder to coat the aggregate particles prior to laying.

Resin Bonded - This system involves applying a film of resin to the surface, on top of which clean, dry aggregate is scattered; completely covering the resin.

Applying Resin

Preparation is the key, and if laying the resin mixture on an existing surface, we ensure the surface is properly prepared. We clean/brush away any debris. If there are any cracks or pot holes etc. on the existing surface we carry out repairs. Once the area has been prepared we can then apply the resin mixture by the trowel method to give a nice smooth surface.

Concrete and tarmac are ideal bases for the application of resin, however, if you have a different material/product or do not have a driveway then one can still be installed which will be the base for a new resin surface/driveway/patio/pathway.

There are choices of colour and a choice of edgings. Edgings can be in a different material also with a choice of colour, style, and design.

Drainage will be installed, if required.

If there are any drain covers, they can also be incorporated into the design, while still allowing access.
